<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens holder by which almost no heat transfer occurs from the holder to a lens and which can prevent variation in film thickness upon coating and a method for producing lenses. <P>SOLUTION: An elastic body 25 is provided at the face at which an adsorption pad 24 of a holder 20 is in contact with a lens 50, so that the adhesiveness between the adsorption pad 24 and the lens 50 is improved when the lens 50 is attracted. In addition, almost no heat transfer occurs from the adsorption pad 24 to the lens 50 because of the presence of ventilation flow CR that flows via the elastic body 25. Hence, no thermal irregularities occur at the lens 50, so that a reflection-preventing film to be formed on a processing surface 52 of the lens 50 can be formed with a uniform thickness. Therefore, variation in interference color due to varied film thicknesses of the reflection-preventing film can be suppressed.
