<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compression self ignition engine for electric power generation which can self-start and effectively obtain electric power. <P>SOLUTION: The compression self ignition engine for electric power generation is provided with a chamber 76, a piston 16, a crankshaft 18, and a motor generator 8. The motor generator 8 is drive-connected to the crankshaft 18 and the motor generator 8 has an induction motor structure and a synchronous motor structure. The induction motor structure functions as an induction motor, and the synchronous motor structure functions as a synchronous motor. At the time of startup, the motor generator 8 functions as an induction motor by supplying driving current, and an engine body 2 is driven. After the startup, the motor generator 8 functions as a synchronous motor by being rotated by the crankshaft 18 and generates electric power. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
