PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus in which camera shake can be corrected depending on the photography posture. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus comprises a blur correction control section 207 performing camera shake correction control for a correction actuator 125 by altering the correction characteristics depending on the operation results of a first shutter switch section 131 including a lock switch 132 and a release switch 133 or a second shutter switch section 111 including a lock switch 112 and a release switch 113 which is operated at the time of photography, and/or the detection results from an acceleration sensor 211 as a posture detecting section.
