PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preparing a dope for an optical film markedly improved in stability and capable of being used as e. g. a polarizing-plate-protective film for use in e. g. a liquid crystal display (LCD), to provide a method for producing an optical film excellent in dimensional stability by using the dope preparation method, to provide an optical film having excellent dimensional properties, high film strength, and increased toughness, and to provide a polarizing plate excellent in dimensional stability by using the optical film. SOLUTION: This method comprises preparing a dope by mixing a metal alkoxide hydrolyzate with a cellulose ester resin in such a way that the cellulose ester resin is mixed and dissolved in a solution of mixture of the metal alkoxide hydrolyzate and a solvent, and the resulting mixture is kept stagnant for 30 min to 72 h by standing in a quiescent state or under agitation at a revolution speed of 60 rpm or slower. The optical film is produced by casting the thus prepared optical film dope onto a metal support by a solution casting film formation method. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
