PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically remove clogging of tablets before performing maintenance. SOLUTION: A tablet filling apparatus comprises: a tablet cassette 12 wherein a rotor 13 on which a groove for holding the tablets is formed is rotatably provided inside a cassette body 14, a discharge port 19 for discharging the tablets held in the groove is formed on the cassette body 14, and a worm gear 23 to be engaged with gears 33 and 32 fixed to the shaft of the rotor 13 projecting from the bottom of the cassette body 14 is provided on the cassette body 14; and a carrying member 41 which holds a tablet container 9, approaches the tablet cassette 12 where the tablets to be taken out are housed, and is provided with a drive shaft 50 to be engaged with the worm gear 23 to rotate the rotor 13 through the gears 33 and 22. The worm gear 23 is provided movably in the axial direction. The tablet container 9 is carried to the tablet cassette 12 by the carrying member 41, and in the case that the rotation of the rotor 13 is stopped in the middle of putting out the tablets, the worm gear 23 is moved in the axial direction by the drive shaft of the carrying member 41 and the rotor 13 is reversely rotated.
