PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the power consumption of a display control unit equipped with a volatile memory requiring refresh operation to hold storage. SOLUTION: The display control unit has the volatile memory A which can store display data used to display an image of one page and requires the refreshing operation to hold the storage, page memories B322 to B324 which can store display data used to display an image of one page and do not require the refresh operation to hold the storage, and a display data selection circuit B326 and a selector B325 which select one of the volatile memory A and page memories B322 to B324 and supply display data held in the selected memory to a display panel 20.
