PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device and an image forming apparatus suppressing the occurrence of an abnormal image due to the occurrence of rippling in a fixing belt. SOLUTION: The fixing device is provided with the fixing belt, two or more rollers holding the belt and a roller facing one of the rollers across the fixing belt. Among the rollers holding the fixing belt, at least one roller is provided with a function of transmitting heat from a heat source to the belt. In addition, a first sensor 12 directly for detecting the temperature of the surface of the roller and a second sensor 11 for detecting the temperature of the surface of the roller through the fixing belt 3 are included.
