PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a back flow preventing component having a straightening effect of stopping stream when a water meter is reversely attached and stabilizing the stream when the water meter is normally attached. SOLUTION: The back flow preventing component comprises a ring 6 capable of being engaged with an inflow port of the water meter, a lower opening/closing lid 1 and upper opening/closing lid 2 having a semi-circular plate shape that tightly come into contact with the inner wall of the ring 6, and a spring 4 using a pivot 3 as a power point. When it is reversely attached, the stream is stopped by a back flow preventing function of the lower opening/closing lid 1 and upper opening/closing lid 2.
