PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an artificial tracer that has no toxicity, can be obtained at a low price, and has high detection accuracy, and to provide a leak detection method using the artificial tracer. SOLUTION: A tracer material of the artificial tracer is Fe-EDTA complex salt. When leakage of a steel-made impervious wall is detected using the artificial tracer, for example, the leakage is detected, by measuring the concentration of iron by using the Fe-EDTA complex salt as the tracer material.
