PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an environmentally friendly, highly heat-resistant phenol resin composition for papermaking. SOLUTION: The phenol resin composition for papermaking contains a novolac phenol resin and an epoxy resin, wherein the novolac phenol resin contains≤0.1 wt% unreacted phenols. The composition comprises≥35 wt% fixed carbon based on the resin solid content. Preferably, the ratio of epoxy groups contained in the epoxy resin to hydroxy groups contained in the novolac phenol resin is 0.05-0.5. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
