PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a vinyl acetate resin emulsion which has excellent low-temperature film-forming properties and excellent adhesive strength and is excellent in fluidity. SOLUTION: The vinyl acetate resin emulsion is a vinyl acetate resin emulsion obtained by polymerizing a monomer component containing at least vinyl acetate, wherein the polymerization of the monomer component containing at least vinyl acetate is followed by the addition of a mixture of a liquid plasticizer and a powdery water-soluble polymeric compound. The liquid plasticizer is desirably a liquid plasticizer (e. g. , a fatty acid ester liquid plasticizer or an aromatic carboxylic acid ester liquid plasticizer other than a phthalic ester liquid plasticizer) other than a phthalic ester liquid plasticizer, and the powdery water-soluble polymeric compound is exemplified by a powdery polyvinyl alcohol polymer or a powdery polyvinylpyrrolidone polymer.
