PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heating and cooling apparatus with which thermotherapy and cryotherapy can be carried out selectively and the thermotherapy and the cryotherapy can be carried out simultaneously. SOLUTION: The apparatus is provided with: a plurality of heat transfer medium circulation paths 201 and 202 respectively provided with compressors 211 and 212; decompressors 231 and 232, first heat exchangers 241 and 242 and second heat exchangers 221 and 222 which function as condensers for liquefying a heat transfer medium when the heat transfer medium is sent from a compressor side and function as evaporators for evaporating the heat transfer medium when the heat transfer medium is sent from a decompressor side, and four-way valves 251, 252 for switching the direction of the flow of the heat transfer medium; a driving source 400 capable of driving the compressors simultaneously; a first heating and cooling member 331 and a second heating and cooling member 332 which are used for heating a part to be hated or cooling a part to be cooled and which are respectively provided with a heat transfer medium path inside them; and a piping for feeding the heat transfer medium heat-exchanged by at least one first heat exchanger to the heat transfer medium path of each heating and cooling member.
