Device for deposition of a protective coating on a workpiece with the aid of a robot or similar carrier of moveable axial slides, uses direct or indirect pressure of an electrode (9) on the workpiece, with traversing of the electrode with the aid of the moveable axial continuously in the longitudinal direction. The electrode has a vibration device and a control device for controlling the pressure of the electrode on the workpiece.
