<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method in which a catalyst ink is brought into a liquid droplet, in which the dispersion uniformity of platinum carrying carbon as a solid content of the ink and a proton conductive material (liquefied Nafion or the like) is improved by depositing them on a base material surface, and in which a ternary phase interface of carbon/platinum/proton conductive material is efficiently formed. <P>SOLUTION: By manufacturing a catalyst electrode by a process of producing a dissolution liquid in which platinum carrying carbon and the proton conductive material have been dissolved into a solvent, by a process of forming the liquid droplet of the dissolution liquid, by a process of depositing the liquid droplet on the base material surface, and by a process of thermally compressing the conductive base material on a surface formed by the deposition of the liquid droplet, the utilization rate of platinum used for the catalyst electrode can be improved significantly. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
