<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of easily preventing unauthorized use. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus which performs image forming operation by reading an original includes a pattern detection means for detecting a pattern printed on the read original, and user information in which the name of a user who is permitted to perform the image forming operation when the pattern is detected is registered.
