<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a negative electrode capable of improving cycle characteristics, and a battery using it, and their manufacturing methods. <P>SOLUTION: A negative electrode current collector 12 made of a metallic material such as Cu is formed by plating so as to cover a negative electrode active material particle 11 containing silicon as a constituent element. Even if the particle 11 is expanded and contracted due to charging and discharging, the collector 12 may suppress the collapse of the shapes of the particle 11, and also contact performance between the particle 11 and the collector 12 may be enhanced to suppress reduction in current collecting property. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
