<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reversible thermal recording material which can repeat a process to form or erase a high-contrast/high-sensitivity recording image many times and realize stable image erasing properties across a broad energy range. <P>SOLUTION: This reversible thermal recording material comprises: at least a reversible thermal recording layer containing a normally colorless or pale-color electron-donative dye precursor and a reversible developer which can reversibly change a color tone in the dye precursor due to a difference in the cooling rate after heating, as principal components; and a protecting layer laminated on a support, wherein the arithmetic mean roughness Ra of the surface of the reversible thermal recording layer is not more than 0.2 μm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
