<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a development device of an image forming apparatus wherein a proper gap between a developing roller and a photoreceptor drum can be maintained by preventing scattered toner from sticking to spacer roll peripheral surfaces provided in both end sides in a lengthwise direction of the developing roller. <P>SOLUTION: The development device 9 which imparts toner to an electrostatic latent image formed on an image carrier 7 to develop the image includes a developer carrier 9c rotatably supported on a developing frame 12 forming a housing of the developing device 9 and spacer rolls 9i which are rotatably provided in both end sides in a lengthwise direction of the image carrier 9c and hold a gap between the image carrier 7 and the developer carrier 9c fixed, and recesses 118 having prescribed width and depth are formed in a part of a lower collar part 12h of the developing frame 12, which face the surface of the developer carrier 9c, and scattered toner is released down the developing device 9 from the recess 118. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
