<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance operability by lessening a burden on an energy saving switching controller and quickening the start of reading a document when an operation mode is reset, and to sustain high digital conversion quality. <P>SOLUTION: The document reader comprises a document scanner, an energy saving power supply circuit, an energy saving control means, and a clock IC. The document scanner comprises an output correction means for updating digital conversion parameters including an image signal amplification gain such that image data obtained by reading a reference white board with a CCD have proper values, and a control means of output correction for reading time data in correspondence with voltage application from a pause to a wait mode, updating the digital conversion parameters by output correction when the time elapsed after the previous execution time held in a nonvolatile memory is longer than a set value, writing the updated data in the nonvolatile memory and updating the previous execution time to current time data, and using the digital conversion parameters in the volatile memory if it is smaller than the set value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
