PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a magnetic head and its manufacturing method in which occurrence of chipping, burrs, or the like at an edge of a cutting plane can be suppressed when a slider of the magnetic head is cut individually. SOLUTION: In a thin film magnetic head slider having a thin film magnetic element 15 at a trailing side end plane B of a recording medium opposing plane 14 of a slider 11, the slider 11 has both side planes 18 orthogonally crossed to the recording medium opposing plane 14 and extended in the direction of relative movement for the recording medium, and the slider 11 is provided with a tilt plane 17 over the recording medium opposing plane 14 and the both side planes 18 and crossed respectively to the recording medium opposing plane 14 and the side plane 18 with an obtuse angle.
