CIRCUIT AND METHOD FOR COMPENSATING FOR OFFSET VOLTAGE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a circuit and method for compensating for a variation in an offset voltage caused by a temperature variation of a circuit (PDIC) for converting light to be used for high-speed and high-capacitance storage technologies equivalent to a magnetic disk into an electric signal. SOLUTION: In an offset voltage compensation circuit, characteristics of a BJT (bipolar junction transistor) used for an output circuit of a PDIC are varied with variation in surrounding temperature. A second BJT having the same temperature characteristics as the above BJT is prepared to configure a bypass circuit of a current flowing through a current mirror to an output BJT element, thereby compensating for the variation in the offset voltage caused by the temperature variation.
