PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To tremendously improve image quality by suppressing an influence on the image quality of electromagnetic waves generated when a matrix-type display panel is driven. SOLUTION: A display device DIS detects a receiving frequency f1 in a TV broadcast wave receiving tuner 1 at a frequency varying part 5, varies the frequency f2 of a system clock signal Sck and the frequency f3 of a drive clock signal Gck to be output from a system clock generating circuit 23 and a drive clock generating circuit 32, and suppresses deterioration of the image quality caused by electromagnetic waves generated when these clock signals are generated. In addition, with changes in these clock signals Sck and Gck, the frequency f4 of a driving signal to be supplied to a PDP 4 is changed and moreover the waveforms of sustain pulses IPy and IPx are changed, and electromagnetic waves of spurious radiation to be radiated from the PDP 4 are suppressed to improve the image quality.
