PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic mail (e-mail) erroneous transmission monitoring method for detecting erroneous transmission without changing an existing e-mail program, etc., and transmitting e-mail without requiring a retention time to allow an operator to confirm the erroneous transmission of the e-mail, and to provide its system. SOLUTION: The method includes: a mail client for exchanging the e-mail; a mail server for relaying the e-mail; and an erroneous transmission mail monitoring device for monitoring the e-mail which is exchanged between the mail client and the mail server. The erroneous transmission mail monitoring device determines whether the e-mail transmitted from the mail client to the mail server is erroneously transmitted or not, based on information which is required for determining the erroneous transmission of the e-mail previously preserved in a storage means. When the erroneous transmission is determined, the mail client and the mail server are made to stop the transmission of the e-mail and the effect that the erroneous transmission is performed is notified to the mail client.
