A lengthy protection assembly is provided. The first part of its length is fitted in the covering (20). The second part of its length is fitted in a cover (26). The cover has a circumferential groove (42). The covering includes a bore corresponding with the groove (or vice versa). The protection is partially seated in the groove and partly in the bore, in a locking position. The protection is at an acute- or an obtuse angle to the longitudinal axis (32) of the light or cover thread. It preferably occupies a common plane with the longitudinal axis of the light. The method of securing and protection, is a grub screw. It is accessible at the outer circumference of the covering. Cover and covering are connected by an electrical cable. The covering has a connection for the cable. This is positioned such that the cable can be guided by the protection. The cover outer thread screws into an internal thread (36) of the covering. These components each have radial surfaces resting against each other, when screwed together. There is a triangular seal channel in the covering, between the internal thread and resting surface. This accommodates an O-ring. In the hollow body (11) a metal backing sheet (12) forms the mounting for the lamp and associated components. One end is bent down to form an endwall (54). A cover projection (55) enters a corresponding opening in the endwall. The cover structure is further detailed. A seal is included between cover and covering. The covering has a surrounding groove near its opening (25), the wall forming the free end of the hollow body is inserted into this, together with a casting mass. There is greater spacing between the hollow body and the groove outer wall, than between it and the groove inner wall. |
