<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal storage medium used for cooling equipment, and to provide equipment to be cooled by the thermal storage medium, particularly a solar cell panel. <P>SOLUTION: The thermal storage medium having a critical temperature at which water capacity critically changes comprises a polymer material whose water capacity is higher at a higher temperature side of the critical temperature than at a lower temperature side, a hydrate whose melting point increases with the increase in the weight concentration thereof in water, and water.
