<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hammer drill operable in a hammer mode, a drill mode and a combined mode of a hammer and a drill. <P>SOLUTION: The hammer drill includes a motor (20), a tool holder (6), a transmission device, a mode changeover mechanism, a switch (22), and a lock-on mechanism (26).
