PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent printed matter from being wasted by guessing that an inkjet recording apparatus runs out of ink midway through printing in the reception of image data from history information on a printing density. SOLUTION: This inkjet recording apparatus monitors the density of printing done by a user, makes information on an average printing density and a maximum printing density for each printing paper size stored in advance as the history information, guesses the quantity of ink, required for the printing, from the printing paper size at the start of the printing, and makes the user recognize that the inkjet recording apparatus clearly runs out of the ink midway through the printing.
