PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide heat-insulating paper which considers environments and has an excellent heat-insulating property without enhancing the cost of production (contributing to the reduction of energy), and to provide a heat-insulating paper container. SOLUTION: This heat-insulating paper is characterized by applying a heat-insulating coating layer 14 comprising a coating composition prepared by dispersing cavity-having hollow particles (foamable microcapsules) in an aqueous solution containing an acrylic resin having a glass transition temperature of -30 to 10°C on the surface of a paper substrate 10 made from pulp as a main raw material, and then thermally foaming the obtained heat-insulating paper laminate 2. The coating composition preferably contains ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer (EVOH) in an amount of 1 to 40%. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
