PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separation membrane having a high separation coefficient and a high permeation flow rate, particularly a composite membrane suitable for separating a desired component from an azeotrope mixture by a pervaporation method and to provide a method for separating the desired component from the azeotrope mixture using the composite membrane. SOLUTION: In the composite membrane, a layer comprising a zeolite crystal is formed on a surface of a hollow cylindrical porous support body having a surface opening ratio of 2% to 50%, an average pore diameter of 1μm or less, an outer diameter of 0.5-10 mm and a wall thickness of 1.5 mm or less.
