PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a body structure of vehicle having both a collision energy absorbing performance and a vehicle compartment sound absorbing function. SOLUTION: A collision energy absorber 3 for absorbing collision energy is applied to the inner surfaces of a compartment of an instrument panel 1 and a floor panel 2 acting as vehicle body panels and then a foot F of passenger is placed at the upper part of this collision energy absorber 3. The collision energy absorber 3 has a framework 4 for absorbing the collision energy and a sound absorbing part 5 for absorbing sound inside the compartment. The framework 4 has a honeycomb structure in which a plurality of column-like through-pass holes 4a are formed in a plate-like member composed of hard polyurethane foam. The sound absorbing part 5 is formed by charging sound absorbing material such as soft or semi-hard polyurethane foam into the through-pass holes 4a. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
