PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a dislocation of the start of image recording by optimally generating trigger information to acquire information of the start of image recording and generating transfer information of a recording medium on the basis of the trigger information generated. SOLUTION: The image recording device is provided with a multiple feed sensor 22, a top sensor 24 and an image recording section 11 sequentially from the upstream side of a transfer route, and also a medium transfer mechanism 5 to mount and transfer a recording medium 2 and capable of generating a transfer information oppositely to the top sensor 24 and the image recording section 11, judges whether the detection signal of the recording medium 2 in the top sensor 24 is effective/ineffective by a prescribed threshold th in the specified range C of a top sensor window set on the basis of the detection information of the recording medium 2 of the multiple feed sensor 22, adopts the detection information of the top sensor 24 as trigger information at the time when the signal is effective, the detection information of the recording medium 2 of the multiple feed sensor 22 as trigger information at the time when the signal is ineffective, and performs image recording to the recording medium 2 on the basis of image recording action start information generated on the basis of the trigger information.
