SIMULTANEOUS QUANTITATIVE DETERMINATION METHOD OF CARBOXYLIC ACID AND CARBONYL COMPOUND, ADSORBENT TO BE USED FOR IT, AND TRAPPING TUBE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for simultaneously measuring a carbonyl compound and a carboxylic acid, an adsorbent usable for the method, and a trapping tube using the adsorbent. SOLUTION: The adsorbent contains a carrier impregnated with 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine and phosphoric acid in a content in a range from 0.2 to 2 (volume/weight)% to the support. The method for simultaneous quantitative determination of a carboxylic acid and a carbonyl compound involves steps of causing a reaction of the carboxylic acid and the carbonyl compound with 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine and quantitatively determining the reacted carboxylic acid and carbonyl compound.
