<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a graphite film with a high thermal conductivity, which is unbreakable even if it has an area of 1.0×10<SP>3</SP>cm<SP>2</SP>or more, has an in-plane thermal diffusivity with less unevenness, and is not needed to be flattened by rolling. <P>SOLUTION: The graphite film is manufactured by heat-treating a polymer film at ≥2,000°C, where the polymer film having (1) a degree of molecular orientation, viz. MOR-c, of 1.35 or lower, (2) a ratio of a linear expansion coefficient along the main axis of orientation (a) to a linear expansion coefficient perpendicular to the main axis (b), viz. (b/a), of 1.0-1.3, and (3) a thermal shrinkage rate of 0.1% or lower, is used. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
