<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium secondary battery having excellent high-temperature characteristics, especially high-temperature storage characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: A positive active material contains a mixture in which at least one kind is a layer compound and at least another kind is lithium manganate having spinel structure among two or more kinds of lithium transition metal oxides constituting the active material, and a half value width ratio [(b)/(a)] obtained by dividing the half value width (b) of an XRD peak of the maximum intensity in the layer compound by a half value width (a) of an XRD peak in the maximum strength in the lithium manganate is present in a range of 0.1≤[(b)/(a)]≤2 in a scanning range (2θ=15° to 70°) in the powder X-ray diffraction method. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
