PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal that reduces a burden on hands and fingers at input operation of characters and the like and enables quick input operation. SOLUTION: The portable terminal, which is equipped with an APD (analog pointing device) having an operating knob, comprises an input means for detecting parameters of a manipulated variable applied to the operating knob and inputting an event corresponding to the parameters.
