PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerating device for land transportation capable of being inexpensively manufactured by utilizing an existing sensor, surely starting an engine by applying a required heating quantity to a start assisting member, and elongating a service life of the start assisting member. SOLUTION: This refrigerating device 1 for land transportation has a refrigerating cycle 41 having a compressor 9, a condenser 11, an expansion valve 29 and an evaporator 31, the self-ignition type engine 19 directly or indirectly driving the compressor 9, a starting device having a glow plug 23 and a starter 21 for assisting ignition by electric heat in starting the engine 19, and a start control portion 59 for controlling the operation of the starting device. The start control portion 59 is provided with a power distribution time setting mode S for increasing and decreasing the heat generation of the glow plug 23 corresponding to a length of a stop time of the engine 19, and setting the heat generating quantity of the glow plug 23 on the basis of an estimate value of an outside air temperature by a sensor mounted to the refrigerating cycle 41.
