PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical module having a spectroscopic function, which is easy to assemble and doesn't require a complicated position adjustment mechanism and can be miniaturized. SOLUTION: A transmission diffraction grating 10 is used as a spectroscopic element, and an incident light is made incident from an optical fiber and is collimated into parallel rays by a collimate lens 30 and is made incident on the transmission diffraction grating. Diffracted light diffracted by this diffraction grating is bent at about 90°and is condensed on a photo detector array 20 by a condenser lens 40. In the optical module having this configuration, the diffraction grating is held between a collimator holding member 35 for holding the collimate lens and a condenser lens holding member 45 for holding the condenser lens and is positioned and fixed. The condenser lens holding member is fitted to a photo detector holding member 25 for holding the photo detector array and is provided with a rotational alignment mechanism.
