PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a synthetic fiber having a sea-island structure in which an aliphatic polyester and a polyamide are uniformly and finely dispersed and blended, raising adhesiveness of the interface between the island and the sea and affording a fiber structure having excellent abrasion resistance and high quality. SOLUTION: The synthetic fiber is composed of a polymer alloy comprising an aliphatic polyester resin (A), a thermoplastic polyamide resin (B) and a compatibilizer (C). The synthetic fiber is characterized as follows. The fiber has the sea-island structure in which the component (A) forms the island component and the component (B) forms the sea component.
