PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing coke, by which a liquid caking material and dust coal can be injected into spaces among coal particles charged into the carbonization chamber of a coke oven. SOLUTION: This method for producing the coke is characterized by charging coal into the carbonization chamber of a coke oven, then or simultaneously injecting a slurry-like substance prepared by adding dust coal to liquid tar and/or pitch into the coal, and then carbonizing the coal to produce the coke. The heated tar and/or pitch and the dust coal can be injected into the spaces among the particles of the coal. Therefore, reactions among the particles can smoothly be performed, and the strength of the coke can consequently be improved. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
