PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the number of gray levels in a pseudo manner without spoiling quality of images.

SOLUTION: An image processor 30 generates image data Dg having the smaller number of bits than image data Din, which designates respective gray levels of a plurality of pixels P arrayed like a matrix, from the image data Din. An element value specifying part 32 specifies element values C corresponding to image data Din of respective pixels P on the basis of positions of respective pixels P in each unit areas Au when the plurality of pixels P are divided into unit areas Au having line-symmetrical or point-symmetrical concave polygon-shape. A data generation part 34 generates image data Dg on the basis of element values C of respective pixels P specified by the element value specifying part 32 and image data Din of respective pixels P.
