<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wire replacing device capable of positively preventing generation of such a state that damage is generated at a newly installed wire passing through a metal wheel or an existing wire formed with the metal wheel by eliminating a high pressure force generated in a traveling direction of a newly installed wire to the metal wheel by bringing the metal wheel into strong contact with the newly installed wire, in a process where the newly installed wire having a clamp section at the front end passes through the metal wheel positioned on the lower side. <P>SOLUTION: This device is a wire replacing device 1 which is used for replacing an existing wire P with a newly installed wire Q hung between a plurality of steel towers. The metal wheels 3, 4 for installing the wire are attached at both the edges of a joint body 2 through frame bodies 5, 6 so as to be inclined to the joint body 2. Besides, the metal wheels 3, 4 attached at the joint body 2 can be inclined in a fore-and-aft direction of the existing wire P and the newly installed wire Q.
