<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus improving maintainabilities and assembly workabilities while unnecessary air and dust are prevented from entering into a recording liquid tube. <P>SOLUTION: In an apparatus main body 1, an engine unit 230 in which an image forming part 2 and a sub-scanning carrying part 3 are united, is made detachable and attachable with respect to the apparatus main body 1 in the forward and backward direction. A cartridge loading part 30 exchangeably loading an ink cartridge 26 is integrated with the engine unit 230, and it is detachable and attachable with the engine unit 230.
