PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sensor having high sensitivity, capable of performing stable detection by reducing the influence due to disturbance, and to provide a sensor device that uses the sensor. SOLUTION: This sensor has a plurality of photonic crystal regions 205, 206, an optical waveguide 102 for connecting optically in series the photonic crystal domains, and a photodetector for detecting output light outputted after being transmitted through the plurality of photonic crystal domains connected by the optical waveguide or after being transmitted through the domains and reflected therefrom. In the sensor, the positions of the plurality of photonic crystal domains and a peripheral environmental condition are detected from information detected by the output light.
