PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve convenience in a charging device, which consciously performs power generation for portable electronic equipment. SOLUTION: The charging device charges a charging battery, after the charging device has been connected to the charging terminal of the portable electronic equipment. The charging device includes a rotating main shaft, a long component (string or rod), with which the rotating main shaft can be rotated by brandishing the long component; a dynamo-electric machine for generating power, by receiving the rotation force of the rotating main shaft; and a connection unit, capable of being connected to the charging terminal for feeding the power, which was generated by the dynamo machine, to the charging battery of the portable device. The long component is equipped with a weight portion at the top, and the weight portion has a light-emitting unit for emitting intermittent light with a fixed period. At least an engagement surface of a shift gear for jointing the rotation main shaft and the dynamo-electric machine is made of an elastic material and the rotating main shaft, the rotating shaft of the dynamo-electric machine, and a supporting bearing of the shift gear are supported via ball bearing.
