PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain deformation of a base section, when a recoding disk is mounted. SOLUTION: In a motor 1 of a motor unit, a base plate 21 is provided with a projection 217, that protrudes from the surroundings at the side opposite to the rotor 3 side of a stator 2. The protruding surface 2171 of the projection 217 is perpendicular to a central axis J1 and circular around the central axis J1. The protruding surface 2171 of the projection 217 protrudes below the bottom surface 2121 of a sealing member 212, that blocks a hole 211 formed on the surroundings of the projection 217, by being attached to the surroundings of the projection 217. In the motor unit, a downward load applied to a sleeve mounting portion 216 via a rotor hub 31 and a sleeve unit 22 is supported by the protruding surface 2171 as a whole, when the recording disk is mounted, so that the deformation can be restrained of the base plate 21 near the sleeve mounting portion 216 in mounting the recording disk.
