PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk recording and reproducing device in which a motor for rotating the disk is also used as a motor for retracting, loading and unloading a disk with a simple configuration and for elevating a recording head. SOLUTION: The rotational force in a first and second directions of a spindle motor 2 is transmitted to a disk guiding part 43 and a head 31 for recording by arranging an idler gear 9 provided in a transmitting means at an engagement position. In addition, the rotational force to the first direction of the spindle motor 2 is transmitted to a turn table 3 in a state that the idler gear 9 is arranged at a non-engagement position. Consequently, the spindle motor 2 provided in a drive means for the disk rotation is used for loading, mounting, ejecting the disk and elevating the head 31 for recording provided in a recording part 45.
