PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the operational stability and degree of flexibility in designing an optical unit. SOLUTION: A pressure distribution (solid line) of a stabilizing member 8 at a surface facing an optical disk 1 is steep compared with a pressure distribution in the case that a sloping face (dotted line) is formed instead of a step 27 since an area in which positive pressure becomes maximum and an area in which negative pressure becomes maximum are concentrated. This means, a peripheral pressure difference becomes steep due to the step 27, and consequently the deformation of the optical disk 1 is restrained, and the optical disk 1 is kept flat. In this case, it is not required to bring the optical disk 1 close to the stabilizing member 8, and therefore, the optical disk 1 is separated from the stabilizing member 8.
