PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device capable of accurately estimating a future value of output of a controlled object and satisfactorily exerting control of the output of the controlled object using the estimated value. SOLUTION: A control unit 7 intended for, for instance, an exhaust system E as the controlled object identifies the parameters of a model of the exhaust system E using output or the like of an O<SB>2</SB>sensor 6 for detecting the output of the exhaust system E, estimates a future value of the O<SB>2</SB>sensor output using the future value and calculates an operation amount for regulating input to the exhaust system E to converge the O<SB>2</SB>sensor output to a predetermined target value. In identifying the parameters, the parameters are identified so that a differential between output of the model and the output of the O<SB>2</SB>sensor 6 subjected to filtering processing is minimized. A gain characteristic for frequencies of the filtering processing is suitably changed according to an exhaust gas flow having influence on the frequency characteristic of the exhaust system E.
