PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new two-headed type glycoside readily synthesizable by an enzyme reaction and to provide a method for producing the two-headed glycoside. SOLUTION: The two-headed type glycoside having a chemical structure represented by general formula (1) R-O-(CH<SB>2</SB>)<SB>n</SB>-O-R<SB>1</SB>(1) or general formula (2) R-O-(CH<SB>2</SB>-CH<SB>2</SB>-O)<SB>n</SB>-R<SB>1</SB>(2) (wherein, R and R<SB>1</SB>represent each a sugar chain composed of a monosaccharide or a di- to an octasaccharides having no hydroxy group at the 1-position of the reducing terminal; R and R<SB>1</SB>may be the same or different; and n represents an integer of 2-9) is obtained by using a compound to be a linker part and a chitin oligosaccharide or a derivative thereof, reacting the reaction substrate with chitinase and/or an N-acetylhexosaminidase and thereby rearranging the N-acetylglucosamine to the terminal of the compound molecule to be the linker part.
