PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conveying method for recording paper performing stable paper feeding when recording is performed on the recording paper and not generating noise and crack of a coating layer in a recording device such as a printer, a copying machine and a facsimile machine. SOLUTION: In the conveying method for the recording paper, the recording paper M is conveyed to a predetermined image recording means using a paper feeder provided with a paper placement plate 1 placed with the recording paper M and a paper feeding roller 2 arranged above the paper displacement plate 1 so as to be deviated to one side relative to a direction perpendicular to a paper conveying direction P. A paper feeding auxiliary sheet S is arranged between the paper placement plate 1 and the recording paper M. Thickness of he paper feeding auxiliary sheet S is 0.5 mm or thicker and coefficient of static frictionμ1 of a paper contact surface Sa of the paper feeding auxiliary sheet S and the recording paper M is smaller than coefficient of static frictionμ2 of the recording paper M and the paper feeding roller 2.
